A few words from our title sponsor…

firmus energy is proud to be the title sponsor of the Derry City Triathlon. Since it was established in 2013, firmus has worked very closely with the North West Triathlon Club to help promote and broaden the awareness of this community event.

As a leading natural gas supplier in Northern Ireland, powering almost 80,000 homes and businesses across the province, it was a fitting link to sponsor an exciting and challenging new event in one of our biggest cities. We are delighted to be involved with the triathlon from initiation and working with local clubs and organisations including North West Triathlon Club, Derry City Council and Foyle Search and Rescue, brings us closer to the local community.

firmus energy supplies natural gas to over 30 towns across Northern Ireland as shown in the map below. We are proud to help local communities develop their grass root events and take great pride in developing closer relationships with the people that really matter – our unsung heroes.

Angeline Murphy from firmus energy added: “Congratulations to everyone who took part in this challenge – it definitely looked tough going from the sidelines but at least the weather was kind this year!  The atmosphere has been great and I can see that the participants, as well as the crowds, had a fantastic time.

“We are delighted to have supported this event and it is great to see the firmus energy City of Derry Triathlon continuing to grow in stature and reputation year on year.  With an engaging programme of events leading up to the main Triathlon, the team has worked hard to ensure that there is the opportunity for everyone to get involved, from children to adults.”
